The Number of Skin Care Products
Take a walk down the “personal care” isle at the supermarket, and tally up the number of skin care products you see on the shelves. Chances are, you will be bored by the time you finish counting. Indeed, in this somewhat commercial and cosmetic age in which we live, skin care companies really do try to compete with each other for the billions of dollars we spend each year on skin care products. But really, why are there so many of these cleansers and moisturisers and spot treatments? Surely there is a point at which the skin care industry will run out of research money?
Nope - there’s not. The fact of the matter is that skin care companies are constantly trying to evolve their products to meet the new and inventive demands of the general public. With numerous skin types to deal with, and then a heap of other skin care “luxuries” that people get accustomed to - a skin care company without a large range of products will simply lose business. That’s the way it is, and that’s probably the way it will be - for a long time to come.
