There are many myths that are associated with the development of acne on your skin. Knowing about the myths that surround acne can help individuals to know the truth and get down to the true causes of acne. Here are the truths about acne:

Sunlight will not prevent acne. Many people are under the impression that sunlight will prevent acne in the future, although it will not. Sunlight can be an effective way to dry existing acne, but the individual should still wear an oil free sunscreen on the face to prevent blocked pores from the sunscreen.

It is important not to pick at acne or pimples by squeezing or rupturing the pimple. Doing so can cause harm to the face by allowing bacteria to get under the skin. Therefore, picking a pimple should be avoided as it can lead to infection.

Acne does not only affect teenagers. There are many people that can suffer from acne, especially adults that are suffering from hormone fluctuations like women that are experiencing their monthly cycle, or women that are pregnant and experiencing high levels of hormones.
